AUDITIONING FOR CO-STARS, GUEST STARS, AND SERIES REGULARS

3-Week Workshop
In this workshop we will explore the elements that make a successful audition for co-star, guest star, and series regular roles, including:

* What casting is looking for
* How prep is different for each
* What type of script analysis is helpful
* How your role fits into the story

  • Week 1: Co-Stars
Actors will prepare co-star auditions in class to identify key variables to highlight when auditioning for co-stars. How do you make strong choices based on minimal information? What ‘stands out’ when you only have one line?

    Week 2: Guest Stars
Actors will be assigned guest star scenes in advance of class to prepare and submit as a self-tape. We will review the scenes as a group, highlighting opportunities for storytelling, conflict, and relationships, all relative to the character’s responsibility in the plot of the episode.

    Week 3: Series Regulars
Actors will be assigned series regular scenes in advance of class to prepare and perform live in class over Zoom. This session will be run like a Zoom audition - actors will be given adjustments and feedback in the room.

  • Who is this workshop right for?

This small-group workshop is intended for actors who are currently auditioning for series regular roles and would like to practice their script analysis and character development in a low-stakes environment to gain professional feedback.

How many people will be in each class?

Class size will be limited to 8-10 actors.

    How long is each class?

Depending on the number of actors and the length of their scenes, each class will run between 2.5 - 3hrs per week.

What type of material will we be working on?

Each actor will have the opportunity to work on 3 different series regular auditions over the course of the 3-week workshop. Actors can expect a range of material, from Network TV to streaming and cable, comedy and drama.
